 A Message from Pastor Siriano

The Importance of Missions

It is very important for us to think about missions and the emphasis that we as Christians must have on missions. I believe to be a Christian you must be a missionary in spirit and in mind.   Jesus said, "you shall be witnesses [or missionaries] to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end the earth" (NKJV).

If you don’t believe in missions as a church, the people aren’t going to believe in missions as individuals. The church must be a believer in missions and missionaries.

All of us need to give to missions regularly. It may be monthly or weekly, or whatever you want to do. Entrust your mission’s funds to a missions minded church so that the monies can be divided so that everybody is taken care of and you can have a part in many missionary projects.

Here is the scriptural promise: "He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully" (2 Corinthians 9:6). You cannot out-give God, and you cannot miss receiving a blessing as a church.

The tithe is separate from missions giving. The tithe we give to God is that 10 percent that belongs to Him. Giving to missions is above that. When you give to missions, you will have a passion for the lost — whether it be in Jerusalem, hometown USA or overseas, whatever the case might be.

You need to have a passion for lost and dying humanity. Missionary giving is the best way for a congregation to capture that within their hearts and lives. So be missions-minded and God will bless you, I assure you.
